Contributions & Donations

The Caldwell Collection at Mustang Field, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation.  The hangar restoration, initial collection acquisition, and operations budget were contributed by antique aviation enthusiast and entrepreneur Tony Caldwell as a gift to the community of El Reno, the State of Oklahoma, and aviation lovers everywhere.

Now, you can be a part of the museum’s growth, expansion, and operation.  There are multiple ways to participate:

Make a contribution:
Contributions are tax-deductible and can be made here.  Your contribution of any amount is needed to continue to make the museum admission free, support aircraft maintenance, fund education activities, and allow the museum’s collection of aviation treasures to continue to fly!

Donate your aircraft, aviation memorabilia, or related items:
Contributions of aircraft, memorabilia, books, or other items are tax-deductible.  Here are specific things the museum is looking for:

  • Aircraft from the Golden Age of Aviation: We seek to add to our collection of flying airplanes with other well-restored flying examples from the period 1918-1945. If you have such an aircraft you’d like to consider donating, so that its stories may continue to be told, its craftsmanship and beauty admired, and your legacy honored, please reach out to us to discuss it! You can reach us here.

  • Aircraft from other times: We are looking for donations of aircraft that don’t meet our qualifications for display but that can be used to teach volunteers to fly or be resold with the proceeds supporting our mission. If you have an aircraft you’d like to consider donating, please contact us here.

  • Aviation memorabilia: Here are examples of items we are looking for that you may consider as tax-deductible gifts to the museum:

    • Books, magazines, and aircraft manuals: We want to continue to grow our library, and materials published before 1946 are eligible for donation to us. Please reach out to us to discuss here.

    • Flying memorabilia: If you have aviation-related items of historical interest from the period of 1918-1945, please consider donating them to the museum. You can send us a note about what you have that you’d like to consider donating to begin a conversation by emailing us here.

  • Non-Aviation Vehicles: We want to add to The Collection’s displays of restored ground support vehicles, including automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, tugs, and other similar items from the period of 1918-1945. We are also interested in running vehicles from other periods that may have an economic value, which can be used to support the museum’s activities. If you have something you’d like to consider donating to the museum, please reach out to us here.

Loan your historically significant aircraft to the museum
The museum’s collection consists of museum-owned aircraft as well as aircraft on temporary or permanent loan to it.  You may not be ready to donate your airplane or sell it. You may not be flying it as much as you would like.  You may want to expose your restoration to a broader audience.  If this, or a similar situation, sounds like you and you have a well-restored, airworthy aircraft manufactured between 1918 and 1945, we’d love to talk with you about the possibility of displaying it as a part of The Collection on a short or long-term basis. Contact us here to start the conversation!

Consider Leaving a Legacy

If you support the mission of the museum, please consider leaving a specific bequest in your will or trust to provide for the support of the museum.  We would be happy to assist you in making those arrangements, and you can reach us here for additional information.
