Visiting The Caldwell Collection
at Mustang Field

The Caldwell Collection is a private nonprofit museum, open by appointment on a limited basis. At this time, there is no admission fee, though donations to support the museum are always appreciated.

Because our museum is staffed entirely by volunteers, visits are only possible when hosts are available. As our volunteer team grows, we hope to welcome more visitors in the future.

Our collection is unique in that it is a flying one—we regularly fly these historic aircraft. A quarterly schedule of flying activities will be published every 90 days. Please note, however, that the museum cannot provide airplane rides.

For your visit, we ask that you review our “What to Know” page. These guidelines are in place to respect your safety, our volunteers’ time, and the rare treasures in our care. They are designed to complement common sense so everyone can enjoy an inspiring and memorable experience.

Because we can only host a small number of guests at a time, please notify us if you need to cancel your appointment so others may have the opportunity to visit. Missed appointments without notice cannot be rescheduled. We are unable to accommodate unscheduled visits.

When scheduling, please provide your full name, address, telephone number, email, and the number of guests in your party. Incomplete requests cannot be confirmed.

Groups of more than five require special arrangements, so please contact us well in advance to allow time for planning.

Children are welcome! We love sharing aviation with the next generation. For safety, each child under six must be accompanied by an adult on a 1:1 basis. Strollers are not permitted inside the museum hangar.

Parking is located in the southeast corner lot of the building. Please do not park on the grass or on the airport ramps. Enter the museum through the designated entrance on the east side of the building at your scheduled time. For everyone’s safety, entry through hangar doors is not permitted.

Fly In to The Field

There is no better way to visit the Collection than to fly directly to Mustang Field aka El Reno Regional Airport!  We have ample ramp space on either end of the museum located in Hangar 3 to park your plane for a few hours or even overnight.  The airport has crew cars available for local transportation or Enterprise can deliver a rental car to you at the airport.  Inexpensive gas, nice local hotels and a lot of other local attractions – aviation and otherwise – make coming to see us easy and fun.  Best of all we have the largest grass runway in the Midwest and a 5,000 foot runway with excellent GPS approaches too.
